An only child, Ellie was raised by both parents (though some say most of the raising was done by a nanny) in an upper class district of Coronet City. Gated communities, large mansions, and plenty of everything describes the world Ellie was born into. Her father is the CEO of one of the largest banks in the Corellian Sector - Trust & West.

When she was 14, she started at the local secondary school. She quickly became friends with Eve Allyn, a girl who had recently moved from Doaba Guerfel -- a Corellian city well known for it's wild nightlife. Eve was into the nightclub/party scene, and introduced Ellie to it, as well as various forms of spice. Ellie was also introduced to several slicers. Slicing soon became Ellie's biggest love. She was deeply attracted to a world where people took her seriously and she could be someone other than Torin West's daughter. Furthermore, the endless supply of technological "puzzles" that awaited her were far more interesting than any school subject had ever been.

Not long after meeting, Ellie was forbidden to associate with Eve (a supposed 'bad influence' and a tabloid favorite), though she continued to anyway. This was the first and only time her parents punished her, and Ellie made her disregard for their (lack of) authority clear. Her parents gave up, and made no further attempts to control their teenage daughter.

As she approached her later teen years, the media developed an interest in the seemingly air-headed spoiled girl, a reputation she was happy to play up for a few years. Her public persona proved to been a good way to hide her interest in slicing as no one ever suspected the socialite of being smart enough for anything but a trophy wife.

Ellie called Eve her best friend for 5 years, and the pair were inseparable. Eve would eventually prove she was untrustworthy as Ellie's parents had long suspected. Eve abandoned the petite brunette at a nightclub, leaving Ellie to wake alone hours later in the bathroom with no recollection of the evening. Though the event was perhaps insignificant in the long run, Ellie was deeply bothered by Eve's total lack of concern for her wellbeing. Worse was the ensuing media circus. They haven't spoken since.

Realizing that she needed to make some changes, Ellie quit using spice, quit talking to the paparazzi, and retreated to an apartment in (ironically) Doaba Guerfel where she managed to effectively disappear from the public eye and her parents' highly judgmental social circle. She was finally able to focus on her love for slicing. Meanwhile, the public as a whole continued to believe she was simply a party girl who had somehow fallen off the radar.

Almost two years after the falling out with Eve, Ellie set off to learn new skills, eventually finding herself in a whole new world of criminal activity - piracy. Introduced to the Crimson Ferret's Revenge by Alema, Ellie is ready for the newest chapter in her life.
